Different Group Home Jobs

There are a myriad of different group home jobs that are being offered on the Internet.  Most of these jobs entail freelance outsourcing of work related to date entry and technical writing.  What is wonderful about these group home jobs is that you can be part of a “virtual team,” but do not necessarily have to be in the same city or state.

Group Home Jobs in Care Facilities

The group home jobs description of data entry positions is that of encoding text and figures from one form to another, usually medical and billing forms, accounting cost reports for the state Medicaid programs, etc.   It is a relatively easy job that does not require a lot of thinking and analysis, but it does take up a lot of time and data entry can be very monotonous.

Group Home Jobs in an Assisted Living Facility

In residential group home jobs, some positions can be contractor positions, but most require you to work in the group home.  For freelancers, you may be involved with developing individual resident care plans that list the short and long-term goals for each resident or you may be tasked with providing accounting and paycheck services.  For on site employment, group homes need nurses, medication aids, cooks, housekeepers, activity directors and many other positions.  Many positions, such as nurses and medication aids, will require certifications.  Other positions will not require you to be accredited.   For nursing home or residential care facility administrators, most states will require a certification for you to be a licensed administrator.

Project Management

There are also many group home jobs for managers being offered by various outsourcing companies online. If you are a marketing manager, you may be tasked to take care of a specific project—for example, producing a marketing video to be shown to medical facilities that may require the services of the group home you are working for.  Outsourced project managers are often used to design expansion of a group home facility to add more beds.  There are rigorous rules adopted by most states on how much common area is required for each group home resident, how wide the doors must be to allow for wheelchairs, requirements for sprinkler systems, and a rigid procedure to apply for adding beds to a facility.

Live Counseling

Group home jobs in counseling are critical to a care facility.  The job entails mostly counseling to not just residents in the facility who are experiencing problems, but also advising employees, perhaps, on how they balance their personal family life and their careers.  These counseling sessions can sometimes be completed through the computer because technology has paved the way for video chats and conversations.
